The Makalu Base Camp Trek ranks among the hardest and most exhilarating treks available in Nepal. Nevertheless, it isn’t as popularly recognized as other trekking spots in Nepal, making its less-traveled routes relatively calm and secluded. The trek to Makalu Base Camp, which leads to the base of the world’s fifth tallest peak, is among the most overlooked trekking routes in the nation. Makalu Base Camp Trek is an ideal journey for thrill-seekers eager to discover the remote regions of the Himalayan nation and gain insight into the culture and way of life of those residing at high elevations.

During this 20-day Makalu Base Camp Trek, trekkers have the opportunity to explore the stunning villages of Tibetan and Sherpa cultures in the serene Himalayas. Thus, they will gain insight into the challenges of residing in such regions. The Makalu Base Camp Trek also allows trekkers to see Mt. Everest (8848m) viewed from a distinct angle. Following a challenging ascent to Makalu Base Camp (4870m), the trekkers will enjoy the captivating sight of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mount. Makalu (8481m), Mont. Kanchenjunga (8586m), Lhotse (8516m), Baruntse (7129m), Chamlang (7319m), along with other peaks in the eastern part of Nepal.
