We leave early for the airport, fly to Lukla (about a 30 minute flight). The view from the plane is amazing, providing dramatic views of terraced hills and the distant Himalayan giants. Soon after landing at Lukla airport, we’ll meet our porters and start our trek to Phakding.  After walking for 3-4 hours with few up and down along the Dudh Koshi River, we’ll reach Phakding.

Day 03 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3470m): 6 hours

Today after breakfast, we continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River. This is a busy section of track with Yak trains that have bells hanging from their necks giving a warning signal to move aside.  After trek goes further on, we meet the meeting spot of Bhote Koshi and Dhudh Koshi rivers. We cross a spectacular bridge abound with prayer flags before we climb through some lovely bush to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar (3470m).

Day 04 Namche Bazaar (Rest day to acclimatise)

This is a day for an acclimatization. You may have a full day of rest or there are some great places where we can go for a day hike. We may also visit the local museum containing exhibits displaying the area’s native flora and fauna as well as the history of the Mount Everest region.

Day 05 Trek to Tengboche (3850m): 5 hours

On leaving Namche Bazaar, we walk through a wonderful valley of Rhododendrons (in season)  and with the view of Mt. Everest summit (8,848m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812m), Mt. Nuptse (7,864m) and Mt. Lhotse(8,501m) as well as other snow capped mountains. The trek continues along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi river and we reach Tyangboche after a total 4-5 hours of walking. This is one of the most beautiful places in the Himalayas. This place is also the home of the world famous monastery that Sir Edmund Hilary helped to raise funds for after the monastery was burnt down in 1989. Inside the monastery are incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas.

Day 06 Trek to Dingboche (4350m): 6 hours

The trail climbs steadily up valley on forested hillside and through open pasture. We enter the Imjatse valley and reach Dingboche after 4-5 hours walk. There are amazing views of Ama Dablam and Makalu on our trek today.

Day 07 Trek to Lobuche (4950 m): 6 hours

Today the trail diverts towards the north. After a short walk, we arrive at yak farm on wide valley which offers  a beautiful  view of Tawache Peak (6,542m) and Cholatse Peak (6,440m) view on left side.  On the way, we can also see a number of memorial of the unfortunate climbers, who died in expeditions around the mountain of this region. After paying our respects in this very moving spot we gradually climb a further hour to Lobuche.

Day 08 Trek to Ghorakshep (5160 m) & hike to Everest Base Camp (5,316m): 7-8 hours

Today, we’ll walk in the morning towards Gorakshep. After 2 hours walking on a windy and rocky path will arrive at Gorekshep. Today is the day we trek to Everest Base Camp and follow in the same footsteps of many other famous climbers who have gone before us to summit Mt Everest.  Another hour of hiking from Gorekshep will take us to base camp. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from here is spectacular. You will be surrounded by the highest mountains in the World. Mt. Pumori with its steep ice walls and hanging glaciers seem so close that you could touch them. The view from this spot is something to cherish, and will make the trek worth every minute.  After exploring and taking time for some memorable photographs, it is time to retrace your steps and journey back to Gorekshep for the overnight at the lodge.

Day 09 Trek to Kalapatthar (5,550m) & to Pheriche (4280m): 7-8 hours

Our goal today is the ascent of Kala Pattar (“Black Rock”), a small peak by Himalayan standards at elevation of 5545m. The magnificent views of “Mount Everest” and Pumori from Kala Pattar are out of this world, and you will feel it has been well worth the hard climb to experience the top of the world. After exploring Kala Pattar, we trek down to Gorekshep for breakfast and start back to Phiriche crossing Lobuche and Dhugla.  The trail today from Gorakshep descends all the way to Pheriche.
